Kampai Restaurant

So I moved to the area 2 years ago and I’m still searching for a great Hibachi/Sushi spot. I’m literally sitting at the bar area at Kampai now and so far everything has been FANTASTIC! I was greeted right away and the hostess had a menu at the ready once I picked out my seat.Started off with a cocktail; of course! It was good. Ordered the Volcano and it was DELICIOUS! The sushi chef was so kind to me and made sure to check if I felt it was good. I nodded yes with a mouthful of food. My waitor has paid attention to me and made sure he came by before my glass was empty. So far I’m HAPPY!

It was clean. Our server was very nice and even took time to explain which dishes had cooked meat, because I don't eat uncooked meat. I enjoyed the hibachi as well as the other dishes I tried. Very good experience overall.

Good food, nice atmosphere. Long wait for Hibachi but was able to be seated right away on the dining side. Made a rough night better. Liked the portions too!!

The food was sooo delicious! We enjoyed ourselves. We ate the Hibachi Grill shrimp & chicken and chicken & scallops. Then we had the shrimp appetizer. We will definitely be returning.

The restaurant was nice and neat. Good service from the server, even tho she didn't take my order correctly and then blamed us (the costumer) on her mistake. The Food was delicious, but the server gave us the option between white or fried riced on the hibachi chicken and then they charged us extra for the rice without saying a word?? Overall our experience was good, but not the best.

Been here a few times so I thought it was time to review. My family of 4 arrive and are quickly greeted and seated on this Saturday night. I was some what surprised and the lack of clean menus. In fact, it bordered line on being yucky. It was if a child had eaten sushi by hand then looked at the menu. I was luckily able to find enough clean area to turn the pages. All four of us orders a different kind of fried rice and it was a very large portion that tasted awesome and allowed for ample leftovers. We each tried a different sushi roll and they all were spot on. The sushi chef was struggling to get out the rolls in a timely and organized manner as all of ours arrived very late in the meal and 1 was almost after everyone else had finished theirs. Like I said above, the food was great and beyond the yucky menu and timing of our rolls everything was as expected. We will continue to rerun but I hope they will pay close attention to some of these shortcomings.

I came on Valentine's day so it was extremely busy, but the chef and wait staff were fantastic. The waitress getting our drinks were very gregarious and even though they were swamped (and a little slow) they made time for fun and banter. The chef we had was funny, and even called out a bored teenager and told him to try cracking the egg. (He tried. He failed.) The chef make jokes throughout and warmed up my not-hot-anymore sake. Overall, great experience.

Enjoyed the hibachi here we are happy we found this local gem. The food was fresh and not over seasoned or over salted. The sushi was perfect. Can't wait to come back

The food was decent and plentiful. But, the sitting at the hibachi station had rice on the chair, my plate, and corner of the grill. More laid back with televisions on the wall and music playing. Not intimate. The setting was for hanging out with friends and family.

Service was good. We opted to sit in the regular dining area, not hibachi seating. Food was just average. I ordered steak and salmon. The steak was served in bite size pieces and no flavor added. The salmon was very thin and fishy which indicates frozen. It was not well seasoned either. The vegetables were average. I paid extra for fried rice and it was more like sticky rice. Not likely to return.
